Bon Cap grapes make exclusive
comeback
South
African premium brand Bon Cap, which was highly regarded in
the trade for many years, is making a comeback - thanks to
Redbridge Worldfresh, who have secured exclusive rights from
Fruits Unlimited SA to supply the trade in the UK and Eire.
Premium can be an over-used word these days,
but Bon Cap grapes truly live up to the term, as only the
very best of the grape crop - around 5% of the total - is
considered good enough to be selected for this brand. Supply
will be limited, with only a small volume available weekly,
as the brand concentrates on consistent quality rather than
quantity. The first shipments - of "Flame" and "Sugra
One" varieties - will arrive 12 December on the ship
Lars Maersk.
As the photographs show, the fruit is large-sized,
very high quality, and packed with great care in branded coloured
paper bags, not the standard clear poly bags. Chris Rowe,
account manager at Redbridge Worldfresh, comments "We
anticipate that customers for this brand will be those that
appreciate the best quality - such as high-class greengrocers,
upmarket restaurants and top-flight caterers."
